Prone to eye infections/dry eyes, want contacts?

OK, so I really want contacts really really bad. And I got them a couple of weeks ago, but then I got an eye infection. Last week I went back tot he eye doctor and they told me my eyes were dry and i am prone to eye infection. I just started putting in moisture eye drops today, and I'm going to get my contacts tomorrow. Is it safe to get them? The eye infection I had was on the bottom of my eye, but I'm afraid I'll get it again and it will be my whole eye. And i also like to wear eye makeup, but I dont put it on the inside of my eye anymore and i clean my brushes every day and take the top layers off my eye shadows and sharpen my eye pencils every day. I am a lot cleaner than I was before i got the eye infection. Will I be OK if i'm super careful????
