Why do Republicans think that laying off Americans will balance the budget or fix the economy?

Unions are sucking tax dollars that we don't have, kid. The states are about to go belly up. If your family is about to bankrupt, firing a gardener or a maid would be a wise idea, don't you think or are you too young to understand that?
