Why are people so scared and rejecting of the truth of enlightenment? Do you not want to advance when you die?

true enlightenment means wisdom or understanding enabling clarity of perception. many people reject today's religions because throughout history it is the church that instills fear in order to gain followers and seem to have the least openness towards those with other beliefs. it is very possible to be spiritual and not religious. this is a step towards true enlightenment and ultimately peace.
